Ardella Anderson is a Midwestern transplant that moved to the Alamo City in August of 2010. She has been in the retail industry for over a decade, and worked for Sears and Macy’s in Chicago before joining HEB in 2011, where she works in drugstore procurement. When she’s not working, Ardella spends much of her time with the Junior League of San Antonio volunteering with other non for profits. Most weekends, you can find her enjoying the local performing arts scene, whether it’s a symphony performance at the Tobin or taking in the latest exhibit at the McNay. She’s currently enjoying her newest hobby, hiking, and has been exploring the many trails available in the Hill Country.
Kristen is the Secondary English Language Arts Coordinator for Harlandale Independent School District, where she was previously a high school English teacher. She enjoys her work as an instructional leader, working with teachers to create a greater impact on the lives of children. Her volunteer life includes the Junior League of San Antonio, an organization she previously led as president. Kristen received her Bachelors of Journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. This prepared for her first career in broadcast journalism, where she worked in both television and radio. Kristen changed careers almost ten years ago and began her path to her new passion: education. She received her Master’s of Arts in Education – Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at San Antonio. When she’s not working or volunteering, she enjoys running and is currently planning to run a race a month in 2016, including her second full marathon. She also enjoys exploring her beautiful hometown – San Antonio!
Born and raised in Warner Robin, GA, Michael enlisted in the Air Force right after high school. He started out as a Communication, Navigation and Mission System Apprentice and then became a Journeyman. While he was on active duty, he received his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Project Management, and a Master's Certificate in Executive Leadership and Management. Looking to better prepare himself for civilian life, he became a Project Manager during his last year on active duty and was able to apply his knowledge from his degree to his role as a Project Manager. He is currently in the Air Force Reserves and works for Accenture as an Expense Payable Analyst.
Passionate about empowering people with disabilities, Ruth draws from her own experiences of congenital limb loss to assist others in the same situation. Ruth is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio and is a licensed master social worker. A Texas, native Ruth received her Bachelor's degree in social work from Texas Christian University before moving to New York to earn a Master's degree in Social Work from Columbia University School of Social Work, concentrating in health, mental health, and disabilities. Ruth additionally holds a Master's degree in Public Health from the University of Texas School of Public Health. Outside of her professional and academic pursuits, Ruth is dedicated to investing in the San Antonio community and is involved in many young professional and volunteer organizations. You may see her around town at foodie or cultural events.
Yvonne is the Founder of The Young San Antonian. She enjoys dedicating her time to numerous Young Professional organizations and volunteer organizations in San Antonio. During the day, she stays busy as a Service Engineer with StandardAero where she is the primary technical engineer for the Power Section area. She leads several cross-functional teams in continuous improvement projects and Kaizen projects and is a Certified Lean Facilitator. Yvonne earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She is a Licensed Engineer-in-Training in the State of Texas, and a Certified Project Management Professional.
